Personal Development: Inspire Yourself!

Author: Shauna  |  Category: Law of Attraction, Personal Development

I was feeling uninspired today as far as writing something to put here, having spent a lot of time writing articles for our various sites, etc.. I felt I could not write anymore. I even asked Ophelia for help and for whatever reason it was not forthcoming - we all have days like this - and then it hit me. You know, we could all complain all day about why we are uninspired, and don’t have the inclination to do the things our overall plan and intention tells us we should, blah blah blah. Aha! This realization alone reminded me that I was being ‘just like everybody else’ - waiting for someone or something OUTside of me to help me feel inspired. What a crock! Agh. I hate when I catch myself behaving in ways that do not serve me…while at the same time I love it, because then I can change it…IMMEDIATELY.

I feel better already just typing this out, because I can see what I was doing to myself. I was getting caught up in the day-to-day minutiae (the small stuff) and forgetting my overall picture. It’s shockingly easy to do, but also unlike me, as I feel I ‘know better’.

Part of writing in this blog is my own exercise in consistency. As I read just yesterday in one of my favourite little books “>’The Richest Man in Babylon’ (recommended to me by my unbeknownst-to-him mentor Jim Rohn), ‘Will power is but the unflinching purpose to carry out a task you set for yourself to fulfillment. If I set for myself a task, be it ever so trifling, I shall see it through. How else shall I have confidence in myself to do important things?’

This is so true…if you do not keep your word to yourself about small things, you undermine your OWN confidence in yourself. The reverse is also true, and powerfully so - by doing the small consistent things you have set out for yourself, you build trust in YOURSELF, and this fills you with the knowledge that you can and will accomplish whatever you set out to do. This is something that CANNOT be found outside of oneself.

It is a gift you give yourself - only you can give it, and only you can receive it.

So, today I thank myself for the reminder of what I am all about and where I am going. And thanks, Ophelia, for helping me by not helping me!

Boy am I glad you wrote that today! I’m in (or was in, until I read your article) exactly the same state… just out of gas.

But I promised myself that I would take care of some things today that haven’t been taken care of. And I’m now off of take care of them, because of your post.

    Thank you.

    Hey Lyman,
We missed hearing your wonderful comments -We all get to the point where we feel we are out of gas but as long as we start inspiring ourselves it’s all good…Glad the post could help

Yes, everybody will always have that uninspired day. What’s important is how one can turn it around and make it into a lucky day. I like to share with you Professor Wiseman’s four top tips for becoming lucky:

    1) Listen to your gut instincts - they are normally right

    2) Be open to new experiences and breaking your normal routine

    3) Spend a few moments each day remembering things that went well

    4) Visualize yourself being lucky before an important meeting or telephone call.

The happiest people in the world are not those who have no problems, but those who learn to live with things that are less than perfect.

Let me share this FASCINATING FIND I have with you! If you like it, please share it with all your friends too!

    HI Shauna,

Thanks for writing this post. I too fell in to a slump for not writing to my blog. I want to write quality posts with substance. I was searching though my day for something to inspire me with a subject to write about. Then when I sat to write, I didn’t fine the write words, then allowed myself to become distracted by other activites.

Sheesh, we can sure get into a spiral if we allow it.

    Much success to you.

    Hi, all;

It’s SO nice to see comments in here again, and thanks for yours! Good to know I can at least inspire someone ELSE when I am feeling uninspired. ;)
Of course I feel great now - wouldn’t have it any other way! Thanks for being here with us,

Thanks for writing. What you said is so true, very inspirational..

Inspire ourselves first before we can inspire others. And I believe “Everything that comes into our life comes through the law of attraction”

Understand it and we can start attracting good things, health, and people, into our lives..

I am beginning on a journey of attracting all the good things we deserve in life…

    This has helped me.
And I wish the same for you…

Everything that’s coming into our life we are attracting into our life just like when we inspire ourselves to do certain things. And it’s attracted by virtue of the images we’re holding in our mind. It’s what we’re thinking. Whatever is going on in our mind we’re attracting to ourselves.
