Law of Attraction: “Them As Has Gets”

Author: ophelia  |  Category: Law of Attraction

I saw my 2 year old tearing apart the pages of a book yesterday…this book was so old that the pages were brown. By the time I got to him most of the book had been torn except the title and about 80 pages - the title of the book was “HOW TO THINK LIKE A MILLIONAIRE AND GROW RICH”. I was worried he had torn my favorite part of the book and realized that I got to him before he did. The chapter is called THEM AS HAS GETS, so I’d like to share this part of the book today:

“THEM AS HAS GETS

This homely colloquialism probably erupted from the depths of overwhelming frustration; nevertheless, it expresses a profound truth. It is known that whenever a determined man or woman adds something to his or her possessions, what has been acquired will tend to attract an increase. What the advantage will be is often difficult to predict, but of one thing you can be certain; something will be added to you.

How or with what you enlarge your holdings is irrelevant. I once knew a young man who hungered to own land, although at the time he was eking a bare existence as a thirty-dollar-a-month farm hand. One day, in desperation, he took an abandoned wooden crate and filled it with soil and declared “THIS LAND IS MINE. SOME DAY IT WILL INCLUDE ALL OF THIS VALLEY” this chap took his small plot of earth to the bunkhouse and shoved it under the crude lumber frame that served him as a bed. Each day he would pull the crate from under his bunk and repeat with great intensity the affirmation that he made in the beginning.

The rough itinerant workers who shared this youngster’s ramshackle quarters joshed him unmercifully about his “property”, but he stuck to his purpose. It wasn’t long until the story about the boy who was “tetched in the head” about owning land filtered into the nearby town. But there were two people who didn’t laugh. One was a girl, daughter of the livery stable owner, and the other was a disillusioned farmer, Jake Snowden, who had homesteaded a hundred and sixty acres of land when the valley was first opened to settlers. Late one saturday afternoon he met the boy in a general store and more in jest than anything else said, “Son, give me twenty dollars and you can have the deed to the Sandy Corners place.” Without a moment’s hesitation the boy counted out twenty dollars, all the money he had in the world and replied, “I’LL TAKE IT.”

With this meager start, the boy kept on buying distressed land at bargain prices, until one day he owned over a thousand acres of marginal farm property. In the meantime he married the girl who liked what she saw, and today his sons manage the ranch while he and his wife travel wherever fancy takes them…”

The next chapter is called “Picturing” Can make your dreams come true? A lot of people view Law of Attraction as some new age theory but the truth is there have been books and people talking about this for many years - the world is just now noticing…
